Spring Cleanup

Walk A Mile In Her Shoes

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® events are a playful opportunity for men (and women) to raise awareness in their community about the serious causes, effects, and remediations to men's sexualized violence against women. The goal of the event is to bring awareness to the issues of gender violence, child abuse, and sexual assault while promoting positive and healthy gender relations.

Downtown Wine & Beer Stroll

Saturday, May 4, 2019

Wine & Beer Stroll through downtown Hollister from 1:00 - 5:00.  Participating businesses will be paired with a local winery where attendees will be poured a 1 oz. taste of wine.  Craft beer tasting will also be available at participating restaurants.  $30 (through April 19); $40 (after April 19)  To participate or for questions, contact the HDA office.

Downtown Certified Farmers' Market

Wednesdays from May 1 through September 25, 2019

Every Wednesday from 3pm - 7:30pm.  On San Benito Street, enjoy the very best in fresh produce and flowers, organic meat and poultry, specialty baked goods (including gluten-free breads), local olive oils and honey, sausages, BBQ, and so much more.  On the corner of 4th and San Benito Streets* next to the FREE parking garage, you'll find crafts and information booths, bounce house for the kids and often live entertainment!

Portuguese Festival

Saturday, June 8 - Sunday, June 9, 2019 

The SDES Portuguese Hall will host the “Queen Coronation” and dance June 8, at 8:30 p.m., at 695 Seventh St., followed by the parade June 9, at 10 a.m. The parade route begins at the Hall, going East on Seventh Street, North on San Benito Street and West on Fifth Street to Sacred Heart Church for the 11 a.m. mass. The mass is followed by the serving of Portuguese sopas and live auction with music to follow after the auction.  The last serving of Portuguese soaps is at 6 pm.  For more information, contact Claudio Silviera (408) 590-3123.


The Model T Ford Club Endurance Run

Saturday & Sunday, Jun 8 - Jun 9, 2019

The Santa Clara Valley Model T Ford Club will host their 49th Annual endurance run in downtown Hollister.  The vintage speedsters will depart from Gateway Drive in northern Hollister after roll call and the national anthem.

33rd Annual Street Festival & Car Show

National Night Out


National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Together, we are making that happen. Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.

Mexican Independence Day Parade

San Benito High School Homecoming Parade

TBD ♦ 2 pm

Come downtown and cheer for the students of San Benito High School in this annual parade featuring graduating class floats, clubs and athletic teams all before the Homecoming football game in the evening at Andy Hardin Field.  Parade route starts at Palmtag Drive, heading North on San Benito Street, turning West at Fifth Street and returning to the High School on Monterey Street.

30th Annual Red Ribbon Walk & Run

Saturday, October 26, 2019 ♦ 8 am, Veteran's Memorial Building

This annual event raises awareness of the dangers of drugs and alcohol in our community while benefiting prevention efforts in our local schools. Community members and families are encouraged to participate and have FUN!
